   THE SOURCE OF THE NILE AWARD


   The Source of the Nile Award was started in 1995 as a means of extending the International Award    for Young People in Uganda. To date the program is operational in 16 districts including:-
  •    Kampala,
  •    Wakiso,
  •    Kayunga,
  •    Masaka,
  •    Mukono,
  •    Gulu
  •    Amuru
  •    Kitgum
  •    Mbale
  •    Busia
  •    Bushenyi
  •    Lira
  •    Luwero
  •    Budaka
  •    Masindi
  •    Soroti
   Arrangements have been made to expand the programme to all regions of Uganda.

   LIST OF MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES 2011


   1. Mr. David Sserunjogi Kwemala:
He is the Board Chairman. David is an administrator, an IT consultant who formerly worked with Celtel Uganda now Airtel. He currently manages his private business.

   2. Mr. Rennie A. Richardson:
He is the current National Director of the source of the Nile Award. An Englishman married to a Ugandan, an entrepreneur in hotels, property management and farming in Uganda. He controls the Award’s finances

   3. Mrs. Molly Nassali:
She is a licensed alternative medicine practitioner; she holds a diploma in Herbal Medicine and a degree in Herbology. She is the chief Executive Officer of NASSAL NATURAL PRODUCTS, situated in Norwood Massachusetts, U.S.A. where she resides and a branch in Mengo, Kampala, Uganda.

   4. Mr. Bwire Raphael Ouma:
He is an educationist and currently the Headmaster of Kalinaabiri Secondary School (Ntinda) and the Chairman of the Kampala District Government Schools Headteachers’ Association. He is a sports administrator and Chairman of the COPA – COCA COLA schools championship.

   5. Captain Vincent Bitatule:
He is a serving officer in the Uganda People’s Defense Forces.

   6. Rtd. Ambassador Klaus Holderbaum:
Ambassador Klaus is a German lawyer and a diplomat who has served in several European and African countries (three times as Ambassador to Mali, Cameroon and Uganda). Following his retirement from diplomatic service, he is now a consultant and advisor on diplomatic and governance issues.4

   7. Mr.Lutaya Lawrence:
He is an administrator and currently works with Uganda Red Cross Society as a Director – Organization Development. He is the chairman of the technical committee of the Uganda Youth Empowerment Alliance (UYEA) and the East Africa Zone of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
